Because he won't lead in a healthy way though he shifts this "problem" onto us.  What happens then?  The spouses split into camps.  We split into those of us who want nothing to do with the filthy bigot spouses and those who want nothing to do with DFH, open minded, shun tradition, blah blah blah spouses.

Then we have a quiet social war going on, not that we haven't had many of those over many different issues in the past.  It undermines the morale of the families though when you have bigots running the biggest show in town.

I know it is a constant struggle for all Commanders to not dictate to dependents, and most of us have made it very clear that we will support all we can but we aren't in the military ourselves.

This is one of those times though that a Commander must lead, and maybe he is, maybe he is leading from behind and he dislikes sharing our military with gay soldiers and their families and maybe this is how he gets to express that.

progressive spouses off-base in the first place. I see this as a huge opportunity not only to include just LGBT spouses but to regain those that left the fold because they just couldn't stand the overt conservatism that reigned. I honestly think it is changing.
