    the idea that "Republican-lite" was the way forward for Democrats, which was so in vogue during the 90's and 00's, has been clearly shown to be a failing and disasterous one. The massive defeat of the Blue Dogs in 2010 in particular pretty much put the nail in the coffin of that one.

    I was truly struck by the Democratic National Convention this last year in which speaker after speaker presented themselves and the party in stark contrast to the Republicans rather than as "just like Republicans but better" which seemed to prevail before that.

    I was very, very pleased and believe that it showed the pendulum swing of national politics has finished a 3 decade swing to the right and started into its swing back to the left.

    Guys like Cooper are behind the curve.
