SCA lady I know worked on a medieval recipe, many years ago, and came up with a "Green Goo" that people all over the area used for years. Mostly for bruises, you know how SCA combat bruises can go on for months... Sage, comfrey, must be willow something in it, goose-grease base, that's about all I know. She did tell me she wild-crafted ingredients in vacant lots & alleys in Portland OR! They were poor as church-mice.

Something happened (I think I heard something about local medicos being interested... she cooperated, but then... she stopped making it herself), but she did eventually pass the recipe to one or two folks, but I missed out. One of the current producers lives in my town, but we're about to move....

I think I need to go get some out of the fridge this morning, I did SOMEthing to my left hand/wrist yesterday, it's being very... interesting. It seems to keep forever under refrigeration, the teensy bottle I have is at least 10 years old and seems to still be effective (I just don't usually hurt myself bad enough to remember it.)

IF this is something of yours, is it a recipe you share?

"real" work : a job where you wash your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom...

but it's a bit daunting if you've not made herbal preps before.  You'll also need a pot still to make it right.

It lasts a long time, virtually forever, and a teensy bit goes a long way. It smells earthy and bitter.

All knowledge is worth having. Check out OctopodiCon to support steampunk learning and fun. Also, on DKos, check out the Itzl Alert Network.
