    the fact that it even elected Bachmann in the first place should tell you all you need to know, but unlike heavily rural districts like MN-07 where populist voters are open to voting for a conservative Democrat, this district is primarily suburban/exurban and those voters are a lot more straight ticket Republican.  Had Graves won this year he might have gotten over 45% against a non-Bachmann Republican, but even with a 2008 wave he would have lost.
