My fiancee and I acquired a very small farm just outside of Peoria, Il two years ago, and successfully grew varietal garden veggies last summer and am planning on growing a modest amount of quinoa and lentils this season.

I'm wondering if our hot summers are going to be a major factor in quinoa production. I'm going to start with an eighth of an acre of quinoa and see how it goes. If successful, we should be able to process a couple of hundred pounds of the stuff.

Our goal is introduce our quinoa along with our other produce into the food distribution systems that supply  produce to the food deserts of Chicago and some surrounding areas.

    Where's your farm?
