  •  I have a Ruger Blackhawk in .45 (0+ / 0-)

But I don't think any kid could get it.  It's locked up in a gun safe.

I can't believe that at 10 years old you didn't know any better than to shoot a loaded gun indoors.

I was taught as a child that you never pull the trigger on a gun unless you are shooting at a target. Even clicking an empty gun was a no no in my house.

When I was 10 not only would I have known not to click a gun but I would have know how to actually check to see if it was loaded.

Your dad obviously had issues if he killed himself and I guess that extends to having a loaded gun in the house and never teaching his kid any gun safety. Did he teach you how to swim?

That's the point. We're human and make mistakes (maybe leaving the safe unlocked one time) and when there is a gun involved ..... someone ends up dead.

      Guess what...swimmers drown every day.

    •  I'm glad you were taught better than me (2+ / 0-)

        I think I know how you're feeling,
        maybe.

This commentor gives you a harsh put down,
and you give him only gentle words.

        I know that feeling.

        I hope you come back and read this;
I hope you read my private message to you.

        You can come,
        every day,
        to the Itzl Alert Network.

The host doesn't post her diary at the same time every day,
but it's a place to check in with other bloggers here,
so we can assure each other that we're alive and well.
