    Americana in the small towns of southern Delaware, from both the homespun friendliness of the people in general, and the rusticness of the countryside.

    Maybe it was whole Eastern Shore thing. Or perhaps it was the fact that Delaware's the First State but the whole area really feels like Colonial America. I loved it.

    In fact, I almost bought property there back in '99. But three December nor'easters in the span of three consecutive weeks that year drove me straight back to southwest Florida lickety split.

    It's still a great place. (despite the crazy winter storms)

      Every year brings at least one devastating storm of ice, downed trees, or flooding.  It so narrowly missed being the center of Sandy.
