  •  I wish we could be sure that Ortiz's political (12+ / 0-)

aspirations are dead. She demonstrates reasonably deft political instincts though by realizing that crocodile tears and faux "heartfelt sympathy to everyone who knew and loved this young man" are called for now.

Many in her position would double-down by emphasizing the "serious charges" against Aaron and defending the indictment as written... or simply stonewall by refusing to recognize that the outrage against her exists at all.

She deserves contempt and ostracism, but she may well recover. I'm sure she'll sleep well in any case.

    •  She DOES sound like (9+ / 0-)

      quite the "political animal."

Landing on her feet sounds like her actual area of expertise---as opposed to any expertise she would posses regarding the law--which ironically SHOULD be her area of expertise.

Those who lacks a moral compass always do sleep well.

You need a conscience to feel guilt---remorse---shame.

Although I'd' like to see her out of that office---- I have no hopes for that---but to think SHE might have hopes of going farther......................a nightmare.

The Onion says----scholars have discovered---the Mayan word for "Apocalypse" in fact---translates more accurately as: "Time of pale obese gun monsters."

that was exactly what I was thinking while watching that video posted upthread. If you didn't know the context, you'd think everything she said was eminently reasonable.
