    24, still feels the effects of losing her older sister. And of course, as I mentioned in the diary. my oldest daughter was deeply affected by the sudden destruction of her little brother's life.
    We were lucky to have friends and family who continue to care and check in with us even after all these years. But for many people, the initial flurry of attention fades away and the grieving family members are left without much support.
    I want to give a big thank you to members of my extended family who supported us through both losses. And to my neighbors who came through so often. When my son had his stroke, parents at our elementary school worked out a schedule of bringing us meals 2 or 3 times a week for almost 2 months. Meals were made and delivered sometimes by people I never met!
