  •  Poor David. Two roads diverged.... (7+ / 0-)

and he took the wrong one.  Now he's stuck, in his role as "thinking man's Republican" to justify as reasonable the actions of his hateful and moronic party.  Since this is no longer possible, he writes as many columns as possible about Social Science, thus avoiding the topic altogether.  And when he must return to the topic of why Obama is wrong and the GOP is right--to earn what is no doubt a generous salary--he ties himself into knots in an effort to find something worthwhile to say.

Add to his dunderheaded scribblings the vapidity of Mean Girl Maureen Dowd, who wastes rivers of ink complaining about how "Barry" is too aloof (sounding all the while as though she's gonna get back at him because he didn't invite her to the prom), and it's easy to understand why the Times is in financial trouble.

"Why reasonable people go stark raving mad when anything involving a Negro comes up, is something I don’t pretend to understand." ~ Atticus Finch, "To Kill a Mockingbird"

Daily Kos is like drinking from a fire hose, but you can find much better, funnier, more insightful commentary here.

The NYT Op/Ed section is prime real estate... can't they do better than that?
