  •  Dems should say (4+ / 0-)

"go fix your own damned party." Yeah, it's a problem.

    •  I think I have a good argument progressives in the (4+ / 0-)

party can make to centrists or Dems willing negotiate on safety net cuts.  Remind them that old people vote in every election.  Getting out our base during the midterms is tough but if the party wants to do better with white voters, especially during a mid term, don't agree to these cuts.  Instead campaign heavily against the GOP and take away their older voting base.  It's a guaranteed win.  I'm disappointed in Markell's statements.  Yeah, cuts made by Dems may not be as bad as the cuts GOP wants to make but they're still hurtful cuts and the GOP will still use them against them.

    •  I agree, Joan. But I think was should have done (0+ / 0-)

      that in the mid-1980's, LOL!

From where I sit, can't tell a corporatist Dem from a corporatist Republican.  Notice how the MSM "messages," calling them "centrists."

Sometimes I think that if we can't do something about the corporate-controlled MSM, nothing that we can do at the ballot box will matter that much.
