    but bears repeating -- the NRA didn't advocate arming young black men after Trayvon Martin was shot.

    If a lot of African-Americans in the 1960s had had guns, Rush, that would've just given folks in way too many parts of this country an excuse to wipe out the race.

      say, through lynchings and other intimidation.

      Armed black people in the '60s?  Given what the U.S. society was like at the time, it would have resulted in their arrest, shooting, rounding up, or otherwise mass control of the population.  It would bear asking a black person old enough to have been a youhg adult inthe '60s what that would have been like.
