out.  Because they can't resist knowing it all, and forever miss the point.

These guns they know so well are only to kill children.  That is their purpose.  I have a name for these guns and it isn't pretty.

PS.  I really didn't know what the proper term for this murder thing.  But they certainly jumped in with the 'facts'.

As far as I know, the AR-15 is originally a military weapon. Whatever else one says about it, it isn't "only to kill children."

And, my entire immediate family was threatened by a man who wandered through a mall firing his Hesse Model 47 semi-automatic, so I hope you won't go calling me a gun know-it-all.

AR 15 is the civilian version of the M16A, firing a similar round and is considered a "sports rifle"

I personally question its use for home defense or for hunting but that is my personal bias on the issue.  Here is another POV

I would argue it is more of a rifle range type weapon for the sporting shooter

I know that the AR-15 is routinely described as a civilian version of an M16. But I think that the AR-15 came first, and was intended for military use (which is not to say "as a high-speed killing machine"). As I understand it, the designers didn't think they were creating a sports rifle.

I realize that the distinction between "military" and "sports" may be politically loaded, and that really wasn't my intention here. Rather the opposite. It bothers many people when some guns are categorized as "assault weapons"; it bothers many people when some guns are categorized as "sports" weapons; it certainly bothers me when someone says that a kind of weapon is "only to kill children." Perhaps more nuance all around would not be amiss.
