  •  From what I read, Biden was a reach around Reid. (0+ / 0-)

Reid was furious because the GOP got more from Biden than they would have settled for from him.   He had the rug pulled out from under him according to what I read.

What we need is a Democrat in the White House.

A very different, and much more parochial, topic.

      "let's talk about that"

    •  Reid was NEVER a supporter of Obama (1+ / 0-)

from the earliest days of Obama's Affordable Health Care (AHC) proposed legislation. It was obvious during the many hours I spent watching Senate sessions on C-SPAN that immediately after president Obama took office and embarked on the health care reform fight that Reid started behaving like a highly reluctant foot-dragging leader of the Senate. Just like now, Reid was continuously offering excuses why the Senate Republicans would not approve of various aspects of the AHC plan. Reid really did not warm up to the president until his (Reid) re-election was in doubt and Obama came out to personally campaign for him in Nevada. Evidently the honeymoon is over with the president's re-election, and Reid is back to his original foot dragging, excuse making attitude that he exhibited so doggedly back in 2009. I just don't buy the "votes are not there" excuse that so many Democrats and liberals use to excuse Reid's obstructionist strategy in his role as the Democratic leader of the Senate.
