    You are speaking now.  You are complaining that no one is listening.

    People have as much right not to listen to you, as you have to speak, or to not listen to them.

    You are arguing that other people should give up something they care about to solve a problem that you care about, and you aren't saying what YOU are going to do, and what you are going to give up, to solve this problem that you claim to care so deeply about.  Each person you are speaking to is quite certain that they are NOT the problem, either, and they have a point.  Not a single one of them has shot up a school nor intends to.  Yet, you feel that solving this problem is somehow someone else's fault and someone else's responsibility, and not yours.  And, you don't understand why people aren't listening to that argument and responding favorably.

    Gee, I wonder why not?
