    the fifth amendment doesn't apply to the political process.  That is what elections are for.  In addition, issues with the law should be looked at and reasonable alternatives put forth.

    As for drone strikes, I agree with you, but really would prefer to discuss that issue separately. Suffice it to say though, a "process" doesn't equal or guarantee "due process".  There are countless SCOTUS rulings on that issue.  And that is the point of my diary.  A crappy process will not protect a person's rights.  

    I also believe there are much better ways to get weapons out of the hands of people who should not have them.  Coming from a simi-socialist, I think market based methods like requiring insurance is a much better way to go.  You want to get some quick and good actuary information about guns, let the insurance companies at it.

    When you say it is "common sense" what you are really saying is "I don't have any evidence to back up my argument", because it is quite often neither common nor sense.
