  •  You found me out :) (12+ / 0-)

In fairness, I kind of liked the comment. I wrote a sarcastic diary and got a sarcastic response. Both pointed out an absurdity (or two). Honestly, I thought about 5 people would yuk-yuk and then it would slip away into obscurity. I'm kind of embarrassed it got this much attention, given the immediacy and seriousness of the subject matter, and the fact that much, much better diaries have slipped away while this one got recced up.

    •  I thought it was more facetious than sarcastic. (10+ / 0-)

But, hell only you know your intent.  And yes the comment didn't have a lot of bite.  They were just returning snappy fire.

Sure your diary was funny, but it was also informative and useful.  I read it twice.   I have quite a few gun advocates in my immediate life and they need a punch in the face.   I can't wait til dinner.

    •  We can all go through the lists and pick (12+ / 0-)

what we want to read. I use the hover feature to add a little more than the title. This diary has 2 merits that put it on the rec list.

The best, simple, factual info, laid out in a highly usable form. Stats with supported sources.

Humor.  It does wonders for stress, which is so high on this subject they are officially going to raise the scale. ;) High stress cuts the ability to retain info.
It is a really effective way to make a point. Court jesters were allowed for a reason. Whose audiences are the best informed Americans? What's that line? "I listen to the news to keep up with the idiocy, I listen to Comedy Central to get informed."

You did a great job on this. Kossacks didn't miss it. You also credited and linked to other diaries that add to the discussion and understanding -without the humor or rancor.

I'm going to have to start following you. The name has been recognized for awhile. I also have another movie that I shoulda seen.

Thanks. It really is practical. If anything, I hope it gets some wider attention so the background noise can be cut down. We desperately need to have a smart, thorough discussion on this very ugly problem. Humor as needed.
