    but I have buddies in the pipeline trades, and the XL would generate 3000 union jobs for two years. The economy has been so crappy that we're desperate for jobs. Some folks are only working a few hundred hours a year, but things are improving.

    Since the southern leg of the XL pipeline (Okla-Texas) was approved, lots of folks are working now anyway on a segment that won't haul tar sands.

    I think the economics are currently eroding for the XL's Canadian-Oklahoma leg, and it may not get built.

     For instance, competing pipelines like Endbridge are advancing, the trains are moving lots of tar sands, the Baaken oil is closer, cheaper, and easier to process, and so on.

    Orly, it isn't evidence just because you downloaded it from the internet.

      but it's a devil's bargain that I don't agree with.

      I wish I could say there was an alternative, but I don't know anything about that.
