  •  That is actually why I had a biopsy done (8+ / 0-)

because the last period was so bad and so unusual that I couldn't keep up.  I had had an ablation years before.  But I was back to changing a super orange tampax every 1/2 hour, along with terrible cramping and no clots ... and I always have clots ... have always had clots.

and yes "pre-cancerous" has crossed my mind too.

    •  i'm surprised to hear that (6+ / 0-)

i almost had an ablation, and it did not work out at the last minute.  to think I might have gone through that pain and still had to endure heavy periods and cramping

and I'm glad I had it ... this one off heavy period is WHY they wanted to look to see if something else was going on, because now a heavy "I can't keep up with it" period is out of the norm for me.

There is a full failure rate with ablation (though the rate is small).  My periods have returned but they are manageable where they were not before.

Given what was going on at the time, I'd do it again.
