In 1076 I was living in Honolulu. A buddy of mine and I decided we were going to put on an authentice Hawaiaan Luaua .
We had some friends who were lifeguards at Mokuleia amry Beach and we did it there
We got a pig and a turkey and we dug the pit, laid in the Kalua. MY girlfriends father was pure Hawaian and he told us how (while he drank beer and watched us)
We went our and laid gill net and caught a few fish that way
To make a long story short we two  haole boys, put on a luau for about 50 people, while the Hawaians sat and watched and drank beer. Just saying.

    That was my Bicentennial Project

    Happy just to be alive
