    for the precise calculations. I had begun this diary thinking Phil's > 60% was correct, because he is self-employed and would  have 14.2% FICA, 13.3% State, and 39.5% fed to equal 67%.  But you are right, the FICA is only on the first 100K or so, and that's trivial to Phil.

     Speaking of which, did anyone hear Phil express gratitude when his FICA (payroll) tax was cut the last couple of years?

    An earlier commentor is right,  he pays the state taxes based on the tournament site where he won the money, not based on his residence.

    Taxes on endorsements, etc would be based on his State of residence.

    Orly, it isn't evidence just because you downloaded it from the internet.
