    during this ceremony is simply this...

    Your government believes in a god enough to use the most important civil ceremony we have to not only endorse the existence of a god, but to appeal particularly to the Christian one.  It is not my government's job to make any statement on one side or the other over what is purely a theological/philosophical question (Is there a "God"?)

    Despite the fact that our laws forbid sectarian prayers in government bodies, Myrlie Evers Williams thought it was just fine to Christianize her prayer with "in Jesus name". That action alone makes the stage fair game for Muslims, Hindus and the whole lot of other left out sects.

    Even Rev. Barry Lynn of Americans United for Separation of Church and State has said repeatedly that there should be no prayers, bibles or other references to anyone's deity at a swearing in of the President who holds an office mandated by a totally secular Constitution.

    So I don't cotton to those commenting here with the apologetics.

    It's wrong, and it should not be tolerated.
