  •  No, that the regulations are under enforced. (0+ / 0-)

We are all innocent until proven guilty. Once found guilty we can be stripped of our rights forever. Rights are removed from individuals based on individual behavior.

The regulations are correct, but they are not properly enforced. And it is cases like this that show why more gun laws don't necessarily do anything, if they just go in the drawer next to the other unenforced laws.

To let ATF enforce the laws.

Tell them to let gun dealers be inspected regularly, to be shut down if they have glaring inconsistencies in their inventory, if guns they sell regularly show up belong used in crimes, if they act as a conduit for straw purchases.

Tell the NRA to allow the records on background checks to be kept more than a day, so somebody buying a lot of weapons at numerous different places shows up and gets flagged.

Tell the NRA to let ammunition sales be tracked, to let armor piercing bullets be banned, for extremely long range weapons and high capacity magazines be banned.

And tell them to allow for limits on the number of guns you can own. Nobody needs hundreds of guns.

They won't. It would impact their sales.

going to pick up the phone and call LaPierre.

CONGRESS needs to get off its ass and do something helpful for a change.

actually have an vote in any legislation? I don't care for the NRA at all either, but I'm not giving them these "powers" that they do not have.

You/we need to tell our elected congress people to make the following happen, if you feel strongly about each of them - and provide the funds to do so: let the ATF enforce the laws; let gun dealers be inspected regularly; make NICS reporting mandatory; make a law that says ammunition sales have to be tracked; make a law on how many guns an law abiding citizen can own.

You're barking up the wrong tree by blaming the NRA for things that only our elected officals can actually do anything about.

If you think elected officials do things because the are right, moral or for the common good I have a bridge to sell you.
