    mostly in his second term.  He was drawn into the sausage making and that brought him down a bit to their level.  Let congress figure things out - have Boehner and his House pass a bill, then have the Senate pass theirs and then the Pres can get involved.  

    Free up the President to be about the big ideas, not the minutiae of writing and passing legislation through congress.

      and now, if he will call out the Republicans instead of trying to stand in the middle and mediate, he will be more effective.

      My Congressman has said the same thing, that on Affordable Care, Obama did not want to advocate,  he wanted to mediate.  
      So I hope you are mistaken
