    ... since an inversion traps pollution in the valleys.

    It has been anywhere from ten to fifteen degrees warmer in the mountains this year. Sometimes Park City enjoys temps in the 40's during Sundance while SLC just fumes.

    2013 is a colder winter -- my friends in Europe are coping with snow lately, and folks were complaining in San Francisco earlier in the month.

      that, if too much ice melts into the ocean from Greenland, it will disrupt the Gulf Stream.  Suddenly, I'm imagining a colder British Isles.  Yikes.

        This year, I'm happy to know that a shorter, milder winter than I'm used to suffering in Montana is the likeliest scenario for me.

        I am grateful for these nearby mountains at all times!
