  •  As I learned last summer up in NY, those chives (11+ / 0-)

    have to be cut down right as they flower and before the seed spreads. Neat part was they came right back up for a second crop. Still the 3x4 bed was more than we could use or sell. No idea what you do once it does spread. You could carry the tiny seed all thru your garden and not know it.

    I imagine it's quite nasty up in your area. Ann over in Rochester is getting brutal cold and now snow. I sent her the diary the other day about the polar vortex splitting in 2 - now she understands...

    Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
