    •  2 pair of socks help, so does long underware (8+ / 0-)

and I love boots... tall boots with the sheep's wool on the
inside... they are soooo warm, my advance apologies to the
      sheep wherever s/he is.

      •  High 20s would be welcome here. (5+ / 0-)

Layering up helps...I have a feather-filled parka-type jacket with a windproof shell: all parts of me covered by that thing stay warm.

For this cold spell I also pulled out the long johns.  One pair of socks is enough for me, although if the temps dip any farther, that one pair will be woolen.

Y'know what's crazy?  I picked up an extra shift at work last night...people were coming in (and the temps were in the teens at the time) wearing sweatshirts...and complaining about the cold.  Some of the kids were coming in with no jacket at all.  I know they live right across the street, but: what are their parents smoking?  One boy had bare feet and flip flops!  I looked at my coworker & she didn't get it either.  HER kids are always appropriately dressed for the weather.

To make the argument that the media has a left- or right-wing, or a liberal or a conservative bias, is like asking if the problem with Al-Qaeda is do they use too much oil in their hummus. Al Franken
