I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.

to give birth. And it has nothing to do with being either anti- or pro-Catholic. If a Catholic woman doesn't want to have an abortion, she shouldn't be forced to have one.

dialogue.  When I'm talking to convinced Catholics I get nowhere if I appear hostile to their beliefs.  Pointing out humanity's failure to care for those already alive means I can show them a broader vision of a pro-life philosophy and bring in some Bible verses that support my vision.  It's about adding to the conversation, not punishing people because they disagree with my beliefs.  It may be temporarily satisfying to live in high dudgeon but it rarely opens minds.  It also opens up conversations about freedom of religion.  "if you, as a Catholic can deny a Jewish woman's right to a life-saving abortion, does she have an equal right to demand that you deny Jesus?  Should a Fundamentalist Christian be able to pass a law defining Catholicism as devil worship?  Would you support that law if the people who promoted it said God spoke to them directly?  If all it takes is a majority of the populace to create a national religion, are you prepared to convert and deny what you believe today?"

It's not a sign of weakness to engage people outside your personal bubble, it's the only way to change blind stand-offs.
