If you head up Boulder Canyon, you'll see that the old grade is now paved as a bike path.  Back in the early 80s when I was doing my thesis work, it wasn't "re-adapted" for that, it was just there.

It turns right up Four Mile Canyon along the creek but can be hard to follow.  It goes up past Wall Street (the big old stone foundation for the mill is on the right-hand side of the road).  It then proceeds to Sunset and then it's easy to see it as it climbs up the canyon walls (it's now a jeep trail).

It eventually winds into Ward.  The original train station is still there although it's been moved from it's original position.

A branch went to Eldora, easy to follow until you get into town.  The train station is still there although a private home.

The other branch went down to what is now the lake "beneath" Nederland.  If you know where to look, you can see where the grade crosses the Peak To Peak Highway.  The only extant trestle left along the line is off to the west of Peak To Peak.  There's a persistent misconception that Peak To Peak "follows" the old grade.  It does not.

I've either walked, biked or 4-wheeled the entire grade.
