  •  My sympathies to you (5+ / 0-)

Death is hard to deal with. And people try to say nice things but sometimes you just have to grieve and to cry. My mother died in 2001 and a little later, when I saw the movie, "O Brother Where Are Thou?" I thought my mom would have loved the musical soundtrack. One of the songs she asked for in her funeral was "Wayfaring Stranger" and here's a pretty good version (not the one played at the funeral):

I am a poor wayfaring stranger,
traveling through this world of woe.
There is no sickness, toil, nor danger
in that fair land to which I go.

A little later, my father died in 2007. When Obama was elected, I thought, "I wish Dad were here to celebrate this." He was a liberal Democrat who volunteered for Eugene McCarthy in 1968. He would have loved to talk about Obama's win.

I still think about both of them a lot.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loss.
