    I think he's Catholic, in which case he should have learned the corporal works of mercy at some point.  Visiting (caring for) the sick and dying is one of them, as is burying the dead.  Somewhere in there has got to be allowing people to die in relative comfort.

    The chief corporal works of mercy are seven: To feed the hungry, to give drink to the thirsty, to clothe the naked, to ransom the captive, to harbor the harborless, to visit the sick, and to bury the dead.
