    ...if they were ever corrected by a student. And then I had my Advanced Chemistry teacher in high school who would purposefully make errors to encourage students to learn to look at work with a critical eye for correctness; she'd give extra credit points on the next respective test to any student who would point out her "errors". Let's just say, I had a far better experience in that latter class than I did the former. Hell, I've had teachers get angry at me for my raising my hand to volunteer an answer to something while no one else in the class would. I guess those such teachers viewed it as the rest of the class not thinking they needed to try to answer if they could rely on me to do so, but what it taught me was that I shouldn't even bother trying to answer it because the teacher gets angry at me for knowing the answer. It shouldn't be any surprise to me that that quickly incorporated into my social anxiety causing me to completely stop trying to participate in class.
