    ....was essentially Dean 2.0. They copied what Dean's campaign did right and jettisoned that which did not work. Dean didn't really expect to get as popular as he did and when he shot ahead in the polls, he wasn't really prepared. Obama and his team, on the other hand, had everything planned out. They covered the various contingencies. Even when everyone thought Clinton had the nomination wrapped up, Obama's team was planning things out, delegate by delegate. Which was how they took the nomination. Innovation, yes, which is what Dean's campaign had. But, with the experience of hindsight and also great attention to details.
