  •  Lean D for Cleland with 2nd level Republicans (0+ / 0-)

But still without H Cain the Republicans have two candidates that I fear:

    S Perdue
    N Gingrich

With them I think it would not be better than a Toss-Up even with M Cleland. But well still they are out.

    •  Are you kidding? (6+ / 0-)

Newt Gingrich would be the best possible candidate to face if we had Cleland, Barrow, Barnes, or Baker.

He's not going to run, so that's neither here nor there. I doubt Barrow takes the plunge either, but his second tweet is interesting walk back.

Cleland has still be active in Democratic politics (he recently raised money for Warren), so I wouldn't be shocked if he ran. And like someone said above, he'd be far and away our best candidate.

      •  I think you are understimating Gingrich (1+ / 0-)

Look at Cain, I would tell Gingrich is stronger than Cain in Georgia, like he was stronger than Cain in the Republican primary for 2012.

If Cain was leading Chambliss for this race I can imagine perfectly Gingrich leading both.

I have not a good oppinion about him, but the Republicans vote him.

        •  Oh good (0+ / 0-)

Gingrich is rejecting a bid. Better. Their last first level potential candidate is S Perdue.

with the statements he's made we could bring his approval rating down to the teens.
