but they aren't the majority of posters and readers. Just ubiquitous.

beginning only at the time on the general ban on negative comments about Obama, leading up to the election...so my perception might be warped by that timing.  But it seems to me that a major focus of this site has been to reelect Obama, and squash any criticism that might get in the way of that.  And that a great number of people were more than eager to police the comments to that effect.  It certainly seems different since the election, but still seemd (to me, anyway) that the marginalized were once again allowed to come out of hiding.

and character assassination, rather than policy discussion, aimed at anyone who has a criticism of the Administration. Most critics just stopped posting during election-time, as beating the Repubs was a priority.

There were even people organizing off-site to sabotage critical diaries during the President's first 2 or three years.

A lot of the attackers have started to realize they look foolish trying to justify the unjustifiable, so we see less of that than we used to.

Most of the reality-based community though, understands that the Democratic/Republican parties are subsidiaries of the 1% and the American people are irrelevant to governing decisions. But still appreciates that one party is an outright immediate disaster, and the other one a longer-term disaster for the people and the nation.

the response I expected.  But good to hear.

My other impression is that there are more thoughtful, honest people here than just about anywhere else...so I have stayed.  It is appearing to be more worthwhile with every passing week.

    •  That's what they always say...and they're (5+ / 0-)

as wrong about that as they are about most everything else.

People are sick of corporations, the 1%, and they want Obama and the Dems to do the "will of the voters".    Nobody gives a flying F about politics except those of you who can rationalize your opinions and self into a lobotomy.

What we need is a Democrat in the White House.
