    That was the primary argument in the rehabilitation trial.  Joan's argument was that "It pleases God that I dress this way."  And as a major counterpoint to the anti-rape theory, by all accounts, Joan slept naked, both in the field and in captivity.

    Plus, Joan was also such a feared... for lack of a better term, "badass" in battle (and even not when in battle), it'd have taken a pretty brave man to even try.  Not to mention that Joan was surrounded by a bunch of fiercely loyal, fight-to-the-death followers.  And a lot of people, at least on the English side, didn't even believe Joan was anatomically female (although a more common theory was that Joan was a witch and/or otherwise in league with the devil).
