  •  I was hoping to be talked down (0+ / 0-)

from Ballistic level, and I was, a little bit, David, but the talk-down offers neatly assembled crumbs compared to the reasonable targets that were laid out, dead seriously, as if one of them was going to happen. Instead, we get crumbs, which, if scraped together into a little pile, may represent small though important change.

I don't trust the Republicans to honor anything they agreed to. We're picking up breadcrumbs in a maze. We aren't legislators; we don't speak the language or have enough eyes on everything they do to properly monitor them. I know everything moves in tiny increments in DC and to never expect too much. I know We the People have scant representation compared to the BigEverybodyElses.

But it was Harry himself who raised our expectations too high with all his tough talk. Oh, we have 51 votes; 36 hours!; 41% minority needed to...; we're not gonna do this or that again; no handshakes deals; won't get fooled again; etc, etc.

Now people are outraged because it was Harry himself who talked so tough. Harry did this to himself, and next we see Harry and Goggles the Turtle grinning like fools at each other on a handshake deal. Do you really believe it'll be honored? Are we pwned again? It's just too goddamned much.

Why did Harry ever open his pie hole? It leaves the whole charade open to being called Kabuki. No trust was built here. We're treated by the 100 as though we're all too stupid to understand that Harry not doing what Harry blabbed he would do is a good thing.

I ♥ President Obama and have his back.
Hands off SocSec, Medicare and Medicaid. NO subsidies to rich Corps.
Rich pay more, bloated DoD steal less. End war on Afghanistan 01/01/14.
