The party is quickly losing relevance. It's embarassing

about registering to vote, I most often hear despair that there is no longer any difference between the Democrats and Republicans, so why vote. It is the likes of Harry Reid and the neo-liberals (1993 Republicans) that are perpetuating this meme with failures like this.

Harry Reid is the worst Democratic majority leader in the last 40 years when I started following politics.

The parties are different but when the Democrats refuse to go to the mat for core issues, or even TRY sometimes, the result is the same. Rightward, always rightward. And some of the dailykos FPers are starting to come off as enablers. For the last few months, this issue has been hyped relentlessly on this site. They've asked us to sign petitions, contact our senators, and then when Harry pulls this shit, we're supposed to act like we accomplished something real and didn't just screw up any chance of getting any decent legislation from the Senate? Why? Because they deigned to pretend to give a shit about an issue this important to us? Is that all we're settling for?

I don't pretend to know what the answer is, but we need some accountability in this party. We don't have to go full teabagger to demand our elected officials stand up for us.
