    I have found it difficult to find clear info on Hedgecock's case -- it's quite murky and convoluted, involving mistrials, eventual changing of charges to misdemeanors, and dismissed cases.  Others have characterized it as Hedgecock getting off on technicalities. Can you point me to a source showing he was actually convicted of a felony? I would really appreciate it

      actually convicted. He did leave office in disgrace, however. {that takes a lot, in San Diego}  His talk show business didn't start for many years after he left office.

      he was indicted and convicted. charges were overturned on appeal. rather than go through another trial, he pled guilty to a misdemeanor. Four months later he started down the road to be coming a right wing talk show host.
