  •  My knees are my FP (12+ / 0-)

Right knee in particular. Varying degrees of chronic pain that never entirely goes away. One surgery already (which was wonderful in the relief it provided), but that was a few years ago and the pain level gradually creeps back up.

I have been going to physiotherapy since before Christmas to strengthen and help with pain management. Some progress, not as much as I had hoped. Trudging around in south-east Asia for most of November was a chore, and aggravated things.

Most nights I cannot find a comfortable position in bed without being constantly aware of my knee. Add that to my semi-regular insomnia, and it is no wonder I have to drag my ass around some days.

We like to entertain, and a dinner party usually has me on my feet in the kitchen for the better part of two days, preparing, baking, cooking, ... And then my knees both start to, what I call, "lock up". That's not fun.

Other than that, I got no fucking problems.

The number to call is BR-549.

that you can sit on for those long days of cooking, baking and preparing. Even if you're up and down off of it to retrieve things (though that can be minimized with a bit of planning) it will take some of the stress off your knee (and your other leg that you're putting more weight on). I use one because I can't breathe as well as I used to and standing is an added strain (along with bad knees and bad back). I enjoy cooking much more now with my stool than before it.  (To your physiotherapist this is either joint conservation or energy conservation.)
