    and when I do, it's usually much closer to home than a national election.

    Instead, my dollars and efforts go to non-profits.  As with candidates, I generally favor smaller, regional or local groups where my money and time can make a difference over national groups that often "collaborate."

      FreedomWorks has discovered our local school board and funded a bunch of tea partiers.  It's supposed to be a non partisan election, but FW marched right in and over funded our little election.  Now we have a school board that does all it's business in executive session in secret, hands out vouchers to rich families to subsidize tuition at private and religious schools with taxpayer money, keeps two armed police officers at public meetings in case any of the parents act up... It's a disgrace.  And it's what's coming to ALL our local elections.
