  •  We should ask our law-makers (7+ / 0-)

There are many ways to accomplish the goal of 100% financing of elections.

The first step is for we the people to do our duty as citizens and let our elected officials know our wishes.

We should do this with letters, phone calls, emails, tweets, etc.

I have no doubt that our elected law-makers will initially ignore such messages.  After all, they are getting paid to wealthy and corporate types to ignore the best interests of we the people.

So we need to increase the number of messages our law-makers get.

And add to those with public protests.  The Occupy movement did much to raise awareness of the corruption in our government, and put a great deal of pressure on those public office holders.  We should do more of that as well.

Finally, we the people have a large degree of control over corporations through our buying habits.  If we stop buying stuff, the government and corporations will take notice.  Some of them already have.  Nationwide Insurance now runs ads saying they are more responsive to their customers because they have no stockholders to satisfy.  It is not much, but it shows the power we the people have.
