circumstance.  The Republicans look even worse, barring many unforeseen circumstances.  And we do better in 2014.

Many people on Kos forget that though we won the White House and did better than many had expected in the Senate, we don't control both house of Congress.

So what get's passed would have to pass through the House.  What was all the fiscal cliff nonsense about, if not a realization that we needed the House Republicans to get out of the way.

A lot of complaining based on the premise that we are a parliamentary democracy.  But we're not.

Also, point your fingers at the Dems like Feinstein who were initially at least against this happening.....

that we won the White House and did better than many expected in the Senate. That's why the public expects us to get something done.  Unfortunately, if Reid's Grand Bargain allows Republicans to continue to prevent any meaningful change, the public will blame  Dems, not Repubs.

If the Republicans ever find out that Barack Obama favors respiration, we'll be a one-party system inside two minutes. - Alan Lewis

      •  I view it as the opposite... (0+ / 0-)

if we get the filibuster and complete control of the Senate which we deserve, the House Republicans will be even more motivated to hold-out and we will get blamed more because we clearly control 2 of 3 parts of government (WH, Senate).
