  •  I agree that the secular statute (16+ / 0-)

    of the state of Colorado should not be overridden just because a religious defendant preaches an alternate doctrine.  Just like I don't believe the secular ACA should be overridden just because a commercial enterprise is undertaken by a religious person.

    But the Catholic Church is the definition of hypocritical as are almost all conservative institutions including the Republican Party since they choose to defend one statute but not the other.

      The commercial enterprise and religious person in this case are one and the same.  And that entity would and does support laws that in other areas would make them lose this lawsuit.

      Legally this is fine.  I have no problem with the law.  It is the organization that benefits this that I have a problem with.

        the church is the religious person.

        The corporation that they run to own hospitals is not the church.    The church chose these corporate persons separate from the church to hide their assets from liability. So be it.   Live by a fiction, die by a fiction.
