    How are these laws enforced?  Isn't each side given a certain number of challenges where they don't need to give a reason?

      even those decisions on race or gender.

      It's a noble rule but impossible to enforce and I believe contrary to our system of justice.  Lawyers shouldn't have to worry about their decisions on jurors being second-guessed for reasons like this.  

      And it's IMPOSSIBLE to completely remove profiling from these decisions.  I wouldn't want my lawyer to be putting all his chips on such shallow reasons but if we're picking the 12th member of a jury that has my freedom in its hands, and he wants to play the odds by going with the demographic more likely to view me favorably....go for it.
