  •  Muscles start going flabby. Short of breath. (4+ / 0-)

Their joints start creaking. the beer belly is getting hard to haul around. The thought of having to actually fight someone and getting both clobbered and maybe damaged thereof, starts looming a bit large.

They don't just want to scare someone, they want to blow them to bits. Goddamn young punks!

I know older men here in Texas who can barely buy food....but they'll buy beer and guns.

Freedom has two enemies: Those who want to control everyone around them...and those who feel no need to control themselves.

Lots of fit former military and LE buying guns for protection and hunting, and I'm 6'5 and 210 lbs.  Also, large caliber rifles are better suited for big and dangerous game than self-defense, and wouldn't the flabby prefer manage a lighter, less exhausting load than 500 grain?

I know a lot of flabby, older folks who despise guns, too.  I think one made a movie about it ten years ago.
