  •  What am I supposed to do with the gun while my (6+ / 0-)

class is reading flash cards at the reading table?  While I hold the cards and record the children's responses at the same time the gun will either have to be in the holster or laying on the reading table where the children could reach it.  Either way, my real intention of helping children expand their vocabulary would be distracted and become secondary to playing policewoman. Multi-tasking by holding the attention of 28 first graders, implementing a lesson that builds skills, and constantly checking that reqirements for the state mandated tests are being reviewed, all the while wiping noses and counting lunch money is complicated enough without being distracted by looking for the next gunman through the door.
