    is something I just don't get. From what I understand, it's the one recyclable resource that gets recycled domestically, making it the most ubiquitous material the US does NOT ship overseas.

    I raise my glass bottle of organic pear juice to you, SD Goat, and commend the extra step you take to import your glass to WI!

    Ah, this reminds me of the days when friends in Berkeley and Oakland would ask if they could bring their hard plastics to my house (just across the bay!) for recycling because they weren't accepted in their own municipal recycling program at the time!

    change is inevitable. growth is optional.

      By the time I left last summer, these were all separate categories:

      Compost
      Glass
      Regular recycle
      Lawn waste
      Garbage
      Toxic stuff (e.g. CFLs, batteries)

      I also recycled my cooking oil at a local biofuel place.
