  •  Enlightenment: quickest cure to the exclusivity (5+ / 0-)

Enlightenment is the quickest cure to the exclusivity.

Voltaire has a couple of quotes that sum up what I see as the sense of entitlement at the base of this small (annoyingly assertive) percentage of people:

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities.

François-Marie Arouet, known by his nom de plume Voltaire

To the point of the diary, I happily heard of Robeson in grammar school, in Buffalo, NY. Perhaps I had an especially wonderful Music Teacher; but possibly the way an artist in society is presented needs to be rethought. With all the collaborative resources we now have (Wikipedia!) there is hope that the full arc of a person's life can be more completely shared.

John Henry and Old Man River... amazing! Without the artists where is our American identity?

The day is coming when a single carrot, freshly observed, will set off a revolution. Paul Cezanne
