    Roy was one of the all-time greats and held his own (and then some) as a Tele picker with any of the country boys.  I saw Roy at J.B. Scott's in Albany, NY back in '80.  We were close enough to the stage so my girlfriend could put her feet on it and certainly close enough for me to see every move he made.  At the end of the show, he took a straight shot of Tabasco (mind you, no liquor, just a shot glass filled with hot sauce)!  The only minor disappointment was that he wasn't playing his signature Telecaster, just a loaner Strat from Drome Sound.  No big deal; Roy was every bit as incendiary on a Strat.  His death was one of the real tragedies of rock'n'roll.
